This week we have been very busy making Ancient Greek pots! We looked at some examples and then created our own design. We used the myths we wrote in Literacy to inspire our pictures. Then we make our pots using the coil technique, which meant we had to make slip to stick the different coils together. It was really slimy! Once they were dry we painted our designs onto our pots. We think you will agree that they look amazing!
And the final winners of this half term are…
This afternoon we were using Purple Mash to write algorithms. We gave directions to the turtle to get from one place to another. Then we wrote some algorithms on whiteboards and had a go at using them. If something went wrong we debugged it to get back on the path.
Jensen Teal is the writer of the week for a brilliant Greek myth. He evidenced everything he needed, well done!
Faith Gordon is out star of the week for bringing in her reading record much more, keep it up!
Tia Raye Searle is the mathematician of the week for trying so hard to learn her times tables.
Today two girls were chosen to help Miss Croxall clean out the fish tank. Catching Eva, Roxie, Rio and Raphael with the net was really tricky but we managed it. Then we put them in a bowl of water while we cleaned the tank, gravel and ornaments. Then we filled up the tank again and Miss Croxall put the special chemicals back in. Then we cleaned the filter sponges and finally we put the fish back into their nice, clean home! We all got a bit wet but we learnt a lot about looking after the fish.
